Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to questions I am frequently asked
Yes. You will be in complete control throughout your sessions with me. You will not be asleep or unconscious. If for any reason you need to return to full conscious awareness, you will be able to do so instantly.
Absolutely not! This myth stems from 1980’s entertainment whereby audience members humiliated themselves, clucking around the stage etc. Hypnosis cannot make you do anything you do not want to do. Hypnosis cannot make changes to your behaviour unless you desire it.
Yes, hypnosis is an extremely safe and confidential therapy. You remain in complete control throughout. I am bound by a code of ethics and everything discussed will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.
Yes, without doubt! Some people find it easier than others to relax, but we can all go into trance. Just think for a moment, have you ever jumped when something scary or unexpected happened during a TV programme or film? Have you ever driven somewhere and when thinking back, you cannot remember the details of getting there? Then you’ve experienced a very natural form of trance and that’s exactly what we will be creating.
My clients have achieved some amazing outcomes, changed a lifetime of habits and behaviours and are living lives better than they at first believed possible. We have worked together to achieve these results. I do not have a magic wand, however, remember, you are in control of your mind. Your willingness to relax and be hypnotised is critical. If you are not a willing participant, hypnosis will not be as effective for you.
Never. At any point you can choose to return to full awareness. You hold all the power.
On average, clients usually need three to five sessions (which are an hour long) on a weekly basis. One of the amazing aspects of hypnosis is the speed at which change can take place. This is not long-term therapy. The premise is for you to be self-reliant as soon as possible. In fact, I’m certain that once you’ve experienced the beautiful sensation of genuine hypnosis, you will be eager to participate in self-hypnosis on a regular basis.
